PETER NWAOBOSHI’S SLAP ON AHMADU ALI

Chief Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Delta State was reported to have slapped Ahmadu Ali former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s wife. For the avoidance of doubt in the African culture if you slap a man’s wife; it’s the man you have slapped.

Am a fan of Peter Nwaoboshi the pragmatic leader of our great party and actually wished the story was a lie but in the same report, he was quoted to have said “People were there, persons like the former deputy governor, the 25 local government party chairmen, security agents were all there, to confirm what I have just told you. Despite the provocation, I did not retaliate. Even when she slapped me twice, and tore my shirt to shreds. She could have been lynched if not for my intervention and the elders of the party,” Nwaoboshi stated

I want to believe his side of the story as our Chairman is a man of Integrity and Principles, but my Red Head friend who always looks for trouble where none exist, insist Peter Nwaoboshi can call red black and black red as long it suits his ambition. He reminded me that way back in 2011 Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa had convincingly trounced Mrs. Ali not once but twice in the first and re-run primaries for the Delta North Senatorial seat, your man Nwaoboshi who was loyal to Mrs. Ali then appears not have recognized Okowa’s victory calling the process that produced Okowa charade. It’s a credit to Okowa’s political ingenuity that he became a Senator. My other friend Kenneth who is never interested in Politics quipped “Okowa must be laughing right now.

Red head was not done, It’s the same Nwaoboshi who said in an interview back in August 2011 that “It is God that will determine who will be the Governor this State in 2015, not a human being and if anybody is under any illusion that one person will put him as Governor of this State, he is wasting his time, it is only what God decides that will happen ………….” Was Nwaoboshi playing God then when he sat beside Chief E. K. Clark May 9^th, 2013 and decided neither Orubebe nor Ochie will rule Delta State?  

I wanted to say something but when Red Head is angry he could go on for hours, what is playing out now Red Head continued is Nwaoboshi unbridled ambition to be the next Senator representing Delta North in the Senate. I interrupted him that it was a sitting arrangement that led to the little misunderstanding

Misunderstanding indeed he countered, Mrs Ali wants that Same Senate seat. You remembered how he blasted Comrade Ovuozuorie Macaulay the Secretary to the Government when the Comrade said there is no agreement for Power Shift among the three Senatorial districts in the State? Nwaoboshi had said “Macauley is not in Position to know if there was an agreement on power-shift or not in the State. He wasn’t there in 1988 when we founded the PDP and was only brought in towards the tail end of the first tenure of Ibori. He was a practicing journalist in 1999 and does not understand party administration. His views are personal and of no consequence.” Your man Nwaoboshi who was there from the beginning and understands Party administration has not produced a shred of evidence that such agreement exist.

Your man was only trying to secure his political future, if the Governorship ticket goes to the North and Okowa who came second next to the incumbent in 2007 clinches the ticket, he will have his dream of becoming a Senator. Exposing him as a man not fit to be an umpire and prompting many groups calling for his resignation.

But that is politics I retorted “No permanent friends, no permanent enemies, only permanent interest” an excuse used by politicians to justify their greed and lack of principles and self esteem, echoed Red Head.

In fact to tell you how unprincipled Nwaoboshi can be as a Lawyer he had refused to obey a valid Court Judgment and Order in SUIT NO: FHC/WR/CS/189/2013, the Honourable Justice M. Shitu Abubakar specifically Ordered that Sagbegha Korokorosei be sworn in immediately. That was in March 5^th, 2014. The man who had spent 32 years in the Bar continues to ignore that Court Order and insist on recognizing the Illegal Kenneth Ogeibiri. Do you call such a man Principled? I tell you the truth Ahmadu Ali is not a man you beat up his wife in public and he will look the other way. Peter Nwaoboshi had slapped the wrong man’s wife and if Ahmadu Ali’s Army training and long years in Politics is anything to go by Nwaoboshi will never beat up a woman again rest of his life.

I corrected Red Head that the PDP is one big family and this issue will be resolved in a family way. Kenneth the quite one said Amen, while Red Head stared at me with that kind of stare that says “you must be joking” will Nwaoboshi settle it in the PDP family way, if it's his wife that was slapped?
