FESTUS KEYAMO’S NARROW VIEW

Image
“Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.” ~ Richard Armour The Peoples Democratic Party is an Amazing Party. After almost Sixteen (16) Years in power, the party seems not to have a clear bearing as to where it is going and individual wishes rather than Party or Country concerns hold sway in the Party. From 1999 till date the Party has produced Three Presidents with different ideologies, Policies and Programs. But the Party itself does not have an ideology, Party Policy or Party Program. A situation that promotes mediocrity that has lead to under performance or non performance in almost all the States it controls. But for a few exceptions the Party had failed Nigerians and there is an urgent need to turn the tide. Recently the Ondo State Exco of the Party was dissolved and for what? But a State like Delta where the Party Chairman Chief Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi acts like a god; disob

THE DUAL CARRIAGEWAY  UGHELLI - ASABA ROAD THE STATE GOVERNMENT IS ASKING FOR REFUND Federal Roads: Delta Government Requests N40bn refund  “But who is asking any question. Media is on sabbatical and Civil society is on vacation.” ~ Prof. Pat Utomi I bought the first News Magazine when I was in secondary school – “Newswatch: A Nation in darkness” those were the years when the pen was indeed mightier than the gun. The fear of a Journalist was the beginning of doing the right thing for public office holders. It was not surprising therefore that the first and perhaps the only known assignation via a letter bomb in Nigeria targeted a Journalist the indomitable Dele Giwa. Those were the days of investigative journalism, when you can take what a journalist publishes to the bank. Today the story is a far cry from what it used to be, journalist no longer investigate. We are in the era of arm chair journalism.   Many attribute the death in effective journalism to fear and the

PEACE WITH BOKO HARAM

Image
Many have criticized and are criticizing the cheering News that the Federal Government has reached an agreement with the dreaded Boko Haram sect. Their reaction is that of cynicism and outright condemnation. Many even ask if a sane Government will ever sign an agreement with a group that had wrecked so much havoc in our land, querying if the United States of America will ever enter into such agreement with groups such as Al-Qaeda or ISIS? My Take: Am not one given to conspiracy theories see: is there a conspiracy against Nigeria  but evidence abounds that Al-Qaeda and ISIS are all creatures of the United States Government Policies. It's also a fact that the first major assignment of the Bush Administration after the horrible September 11, terror attacks on the Twin Towers on American soil, was to ferry the Bin Laden Family to safety in Saudi Arabia. The Bin Laden Family reportedly worth several Billions of Dollars still maintains close ties with the Bush Family. We al

FEMI FANI KAYODE AND HIS CONSPIRACY THEORIES

Image
Femi Fani Kayode has proven that he really is an attention and power seeking bigot who speaks from both sides of his mouth. When knowledgeable men begin to peddle rumors and conjure conspiracy theories, you begin to wonder where we are heading as a people.  The fact that God Loves Nigeria is incontestable, but using that Love to buttress some sort of Conspiracy against Nigeria is the real poppycock and bunkum. Femi Fani Kayode went on to use Bible reference that has no correlation to his conspiracies. I have picked some of his conspiracies and my take on them. FFK: “They refused to label Boko Haram as a terrorist organisation until all men of goodwill begged them to do so and until the terrorists had slaughtered no less than 25,000 Nigerians, including innocent children whilst abducting thousands more. MY TAKE:  Has labeling Boko Haram a Terror group dissipated the group or it only emboldens them. Do we need a US labeling before we fight terrorism in our shores? Why did

PRAYER FOR DELTA STATE

As Election Year draws Closer and Closer, I want to use this medium to Salute Deltans. Not those in Power, But the everyday Deltan; The Truck Pusher, The Okada Rider, the Farmer, The Teacher, The HouseWife, The Father, The Business Man, The Student, The Jobless, The Conductor etc, who against hope continue to Hope for A Better Tomorrow. May our Hope become a Testimony In 2015 In Jesus Name. I ask all those who have voiced their support for one Candidate or the Other, If they  are Truly certain that, The Man or Woman they support will truly make the Difference? Eight Years After, is His Excellency Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan A Successful Governor? If it were Possible, will you give him another Four Years? Has the PDP that has ruled the State for the Past almost Sixteen Years done well enough to deserve another Governor in it's platform to rule the State?

POVERTY AND TERRORISM

Image
CORRUPTION, POVERTY AND TERRORISM Nigeria is the biggest oil exporter in Africa, yet its population are amongst the poorest on earth because of state corruption. ~ Injustice Facts “Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity; it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. Sometimes it falls on a generation to be great. YOU can be that generation. Let your greatness blossom.” ~ Nelson Mandela. Poverty like corruption and terrorism are a global scourge, poverty is believed to be directly or indirectly responsible for many of today’s evils; Armed Robbery, Prostitution, Kidnapping, Drug Peddling/Abuse, Human Trafficking, Rituals, Terrorism etc. but like the late Global Statesman Nelson Mandela pointed out, Poverty is Man-made. Many have commended President Goodluck Jonathan’s Economic policies and have acknowledged that the Nation has taken a bold leap i
