FEMI FANI KAYODE AND HIS CONSPIRACY THEORIES
Femi Fani Kayode has
proven that he really is an attention and power seeking bigot who speaks from
both sides of his mouth. When knowledgeable men begin to peddle rumors and
conjure conspiracy theories, you begin to wonder where we are heading as a
people. The fact that God
Loves Nigeria is incontestable, but using that Love to buttress some sort of
Conspiracy against Nigeria is the real poppycock and bunkum. Femi Fani Kayode
went on to use Bible reference that has no correlation to his conspiracies. I
have picked some of his conspiracies and my take on them.
FFK: “They refused to label Boko Haram as a
terrorist organisation until all men of goodwill begged them to do so and until
the terrorists had slaughtered no less than 25,000 Nigerians, including
innocent children whilst abducting thousands more.
MY TAKE: Has labeling Boko Haram a Terror group dissipated
the group or it only emboldens them. Do we need a US labeling before we fight
terrorism in our shores? Why did Fani Kayode came out blazing from both sides
of his mouth, accusing the APC of being behind the terror group when he did not
have the facts? When did he suddenly realize that it is the US and not the APC
that is sponsoring the terror Group? Remember “If I expose the demons in Apc,
Nigeria will burn? http://tinyurl.com/kn7vhss
FFK: They refused to sell us arms to fight the
Haramites and when we approached other nations to do so they directed them to
say ''no'' and turn us down.
MY TAKE: Since when has it become a crime to
refuse to sell product to an individual or a Nation? Instead of blaming the US,
we should have ourselves to blame for not bringing our Armed Forces up to speed
with modern equipment for warfare. There are conflicting reports that we last equipped
our armory under Alhaji Shehu Shagari’s Administration, was that why Former
President Obasanjo sought a Judicial resolution of the Bakassi debacle than go
to war with Cameroon? Fani Kayode also has no proof whatsoever that the US
blocked other Nations from selling Arms to Nigeria, yet he seeks to dazzle the
reading public with his conspiracy theories.
FFK: “Yet
despite all our efforts to please our international partners and modern-day
slave masters they seek to effect their prophecy that chaos must envelop
Nigeria and that our country must break up by 2015.
MY TAKE: A Nation is made up of People, which
American predicted that Nigeria will break up in 2015? Was he a Prophet, an Imam
or some religious person? Was it a Prophecy or merely an analysis of events
unfolding as at that time? Is it not surprising that Fani Kayode, who quotes
the Holy Scriptures that he perhaps is an alien to concludes that the US under
Barack Obama is doing everything possible to ensure that a certain Prophecy is
fulfilled? Is Fani Kayode
talking out of conviction or merely seeking relevance?
FFK: “In
the light of all these observations numerous questions must be asked? Who is
really behind Boko Haram and how come they have more sophisticated arms than
the Nigerian military?”
MY TAKE: For long we have known our Army is ill
equipped. It showed as the Niger Delta Militants were said to be more equipped
than the Nigerian Military. Was the US behind the uprising in the Niger Delta? I
do not know what the grievances of Boko Haram are or what they want? But as a
Nation we should have taken a cue from the uprising in the Niger Delta to equip
our Military, but we did not. we waited until $9.3 Million was sent to South Africa, that money
was confiscated. It’s a popular saying that “If a man fools you once, woe unto
him, but if twice, woe unto you.” Should not Fani Kayode and the others like
him be asking questions? Why the second attempt, when the first had not been
resolved? Is South Africa the only Nation we can buy Arms from? What went wrong
with the transactions in South Africa? All these at a time when the Minister of Finance and the coordinating Minister of the economy Okonjo-Iweala had said Nigeria has taken delivery of the weapons
Much has
been said about the Liberian Patrick Sawyer and his – some call it devilish -
mission to Nigeria. But the wife has explained that the man was simply
desperate to survive and decided to seek refuge in Nigeria and recent
revelations from Liberia have shown that the Nation lacks the capacity to
handle the Ebola menace. Yet Fani Kayode in his fantasy journey into the world
of conspiracies will rather have us believe the US sent him here.
For Months
the Ebola scourge ravaged our Neighbors, what did we do? We folded our arms and
waited until the dreaded diseases came to our shores. We have a reactive
mentality and not a proactive one. Instead of seeing Conspiracies, we should be
working to strengthen our democratic structures; we should be holding public
office holders accountable for their actions and inactions. Fani Kayode like
many of his kind will like to blame others for our travails. That is not the
path to follow; it’s only a bad workman that complains of his tools. Our failures
create rooms for some of the things we are going through as a Nation. We must
take responsibility for our Actions. Is it the Americans that are responsible
for our massive unemployed figures? Are they responsible for the lack of Power
and our ever failing health system?
Good
Governance is a panacea for almost all our travails as a Nation, 2015 is
another opportunity for us to get our acts together and take giant steps in the
right direction. The National working Committee (NWC) of the Ruling Party the
PDP has taken the bold step by telling outgoing Governors to be neutral umpires
that they ought to be, they should match their words with action by ensuring
that we have a level playing ground for all aspirants and that Party Primaries
are Open, Free and Fair. True or False it’s alarming that a serving civil servant
was forced to retire prematurely by his benefactor with the aim of making him
the next Governor of Delta State and the Man has been well financed so much so
that his financial armory is running into Billions as he was said to have wedged
Kola for an Elder in the State with Five Hundred Million (N500, 000,000.00)
Naira only and the EFCC is waiting for me to write a petition, when the said
aspirants numerous billboards and posters that dots the nook and cranny of the
State is enough Petition.
We
should be more concerned with our perversion of the word Democracy. Today one
man’s vote is equal to our collective vote; the desire of one man supersedes
the desire of the majority. We should be concerned that successors are not picked
on merit but on an avowed commitment to cover the nonperforming tracks of the
predecessor. We end up producing Accidental Governors etc, See the Intentional
Public Servant http://tinyurl.com/kkfomra we need Purposeful and Visionary Leaders, we
need more Governors that can replicate the Akwa Ibom and Lagos State
developmental strides. A civil servant recently made a trip to Imo State and
concluded that in Delta State we had wasted eight years. That may be harsh,
but he is not far from the Truth as almost all roads in the State are in
various stages of disrepair and we all know that no meaningful development can
take place without a good road network and none exist in Delta.
We should
be asking those we elected to represent us in various capacities questions; http://tinyurl.com/pbprvmt
If Fani Kayode had been asking the right
questions, he would have saved himself the trouble of traveling into the fantasy
world of conspiracies.
