WEEKLY STIMULANTS: DOUBT YOUR BELIEVES 6 - ANCHORS
We all need Anchors as we sail through Life
WHAT IS AN ANCHOR?
An Anchor is
a heavy device attached to a Boat or Ship by a rope or chain, which is thrown
into the Water to hold the Boat or Ship in Place.
The Anchor is
used to keep the Boat stable, when its idle and the engine is not running or in
the event of a Storm or contrary waves.
Another definition
of an Anchor is “A Person or Thing that provides strength and support”
As we Journey
through life, we encounter storms and obstacles. Without an Anchor, it’s easy
to get discouraged or give up. That which will take you through the most trying
periods in the pursuit of our goals in Life is what I call Anchors.
A wise man
once said, “Have an Anchor so that life does not toss you around”
What is that
one thing or who is that person that is your support when the storms come?
ANCHORS TO
HOLD
1)
GOD: The greatest of Anchor is God Almighty, your
Creator and Father. Now it is important that we cultivate a Father – Son or
Father – Daughter relationship with our maker. He is God to the whole world but
He cares enough to be your Father and you know that in vain we build, if He is
not the builder. That and an unshakable Faith in His Unfailing Love is the most sustaining Anchor.
2)
PARENTS: Our parents can be our Anchor. A burning
desire not to be a disappointment to your parents is a sure anchor in this race
called life. Whenever, you are tempted to throw in the towel remember your Parents.
3)
THOSE WHO
SAID YOU CAN’T MAKE IT: A fuel for performance and an Anchor is the negative
people in our lives. Yes those who told you, you will amount to nothing, that said
you are good for nothing. A wise man once said, “The best revenge is massive
Success” the drive to prove them wrong is an Anchor you can hold onto. Remember,
the table is prepared in the presence of your enemies.
4)
KNOW YOUR
WHY: If you know your why, you can stand almost all adversity. Whenever you are
tempted to give up, you remember your why and that is enough fuel to keep you
going. This can only happen "when you begin with the end in view."
It's ok to doubt what you had been taught to believe
