FEBRUARY 14 AND YOUR DREAMS

"We will open the book. Its pages are blank.
We are going to put words on them ourselves.
The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is January."

It was Annie Dillard who said “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” We are already past the half way mark of the Month, what have you written so far?
As Election Day approaches many are preoccupied making enemies, when you saw the picture of President Goodluck Jonathan in warm embrace with General Buhari, how do you feel?

We can actually play Politics without bitterness, when it's Love for Country that propels our Dream to occupy any office in the Land. We Must all eschew bitterness and work together as Brothers and Sisters to build the Nigeria of our Dreams and since a Nation is made up of People, building your personal dream is the first step we need before building our collective dream.

So I ask you, you, and you; What is your Dream? I have stated elsewhere that if we tie your Dreams to either the PDP or APC your thinking is small. you are not where you are today because Goodluck Jonathan is the President of the Country. I saw these Three (3) Beautiful thoughts on a friends wall "Kill the Tension before Tension Kills you" "Reach your Goal before your Goal Kicks you" Live Life before Life Leaves you" apt right? Like Rumi puts it "Raise your words, not your Voice, It's rain that grows flowers not thunder"

We have seen the sheer ingenuity exhibited by young Nigerians in different industries in the Country and Many of us still fold our arms and we keep blaming the Government. A wise man once said "You are not a failure until you have someone to blame"

THE BUSINESS OF COMEDY:
I have been fascinated by this industry and it's exponential growth over the years. About some fifteen years ago, it was a taboo for any reasonable young man to even contemplate making a living from comedy. In fact when One of the Pioneers Ali Baba told his father he wanted to go into Comedy his Dad was said to have responded "Ours is a family of serious people and nobody will drag our name into the mud" and went on to disown him. Ali Baba's rise to fame should interest young people all over Africa as his is an eloquent testimony of bountiful rewards when one is Determined, Focused and brace the odds. Today the Comedy Industries is a booming industry. Ali Baba is said to earn in an Hour's performance what many young corporate executives do not earn in a Month. The industry also parades the likes of Basket Mouth, Teju Baby Face, AY, I Go Die, Klint de Drunk, Julius the Genius Agwu, I Go Save, Lepacious Bose, GORDON, Bovi, Gbenga Adeyinka, Okey Bakassi, Helen Paul,  etc. I have concentrated on Comedy as it's was considered an unlikely Industry to make Money but today it's a multi Billion Naira industry and it's a foreign exchange earner.

THE MUSIC AND THE MOVIE AND ENTREPRENEURS:
That Nigerians are talented people is never in doubt, we see the entrepreneurial spirit of the Nigerian  in the Movie and Music Industries as well 2 Face Idibia aka 2Baba, D'banj, Don Jazzy, Davido, Banky W, Timaya, Olamide, Ice Prince, Flavour, Tiwa Savage, Darey, M.I, Dr. Sid, Wiz Kid, Burna Boy, Chidinma, Faze, Iyanya, Asa, Naeto C, Waje, Omawumi, Lagabja, Seun Kuti, Oritse Femi, etc all making waves in their own right. we have them in the Movie Industry as well. Out of the  Thirty (30) Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs in Africa according to Forbes, Four of them are Nigerians; Uche Pedro, Bankole Cardoso, Tunde Kehinde and Kunmi Otiloju.

We must wake up from our slumber and pursue our Dreams and make 2015 a great year. Like Peak Milk will say "It's in You"
