ARE YOU DOING THE EASY WORK OR THE RIGHT WORK? 2

“What is a college?
An Institute of learning.
What is Business?
An Institute of learning.
Life, itself, is an Institute of learning.”
~ Thomas Edison

The beauty of life is in our ability to learn and unlearn. From the Stone Age to the Jet Age, man’s quest to improve himself, better his environment and contribute meaningfully to society had led to the massive changes we have seen. But it takes doing the right work which is hard work.
The list;

1) INSPIRING:

To Inspire means to “Make (Someone) want to do something or to cause (something) to happen.” When you inspire someone, you touch them inside and connects them to a state of being more excited, productive, and purposeful. Can you say you have inspired others? Its hard work.

2) LEARNING:

To learn is “to gain knowledge or skill by studying, practicing, being taught, or experiencing something” and if we agree with Marian Wright Edelman that “Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it” then not much learning had taken place in our citadels of learning. See why its hard work?

3) EMPOWERING: In a world driven by individual and corporate greed, exploiting others for gain is the buzzword. It takes strong, secure and selfless leaders to give others appropriate tools, training, guidance and resources to succeed. That is the right work but it’s hard.

4) TRUSTING:

Not surprisingly, trust is a lost word in our daily dealings. We live in a world where the watchword is trust no one. But without trust, there is no relationship. Ernest Hemingway puts it succinctly “The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them” think you can practice trusting? Its hard work.

5) GIVING: The economic philosophy of the world is “Get all you can, can all you get and sit on the can”
Bryant McGill said “Giving is the master key to success, in all applications of human life.” You have to give out carbon dioxide to take in oxygen.

“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed” ~ Maya Angelou

Its hard work, but it’s the right work and it’s not impossible to accomplish.

You won’t disappoint your Maker!
