THE PLACE OF COMMUNICATION 2
REPORTS:
it's vital to establish a clear line of reporting, employees should not be at a loss as to who to talk to for both the day to day official reports and their personal concerns.
the organogram or organizational chart should be placed where employees can access easily especially for new recruits. The HR department and those entrusted with the task of listening to staff complains should be good listeners, not individuals who merely wait for their turn to speak. Empathetic listeners come across as caring bosses that help deepen staff trust and earn their loyalty.
EXPLORE TECHNOLOGY:
Ours is not called the information age for nothing. Entrepreneurs must explore the most suitable and effective means of communication within and withoutwithout, emails, Whatsapp group chats, sms, wireless radio, close user group CUG etc, depending on the needs of the organization.
ENCOURAGE FEEDBACK:
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus asked His disciples "Who do men say that I am?"
It is necessary to have staff feedback on Management policies and decisions especially those that impact on staff directly and or indirectly. Executives should also be open to receive these feedbacks with the intent to making better decisions. Employee commitment and loyality to the organization is reinforced when they know they have a voice and that their opinion counts.
A breakdown of communication anywhere is negative, this is much more amplified in the work place.
