NIGERIAN YOUTHS - "VIVA LA REVOLUTION"

Never before in the History of our dear Nation have we so many young people striving to be President, as it is now and the signs are ominous that 2019 may be a defining year for our Nation's Democracy. But are we ready?

First we have to root out a sitting President who perhaps is the most unpopular till date. But then again, popularity had never really translated to Electoral Victory. Alhaji Shehu Shagari was not as popular as Chief Obafemi Awolowo, yet he won the 1979 Presidential Elections.

After the 2011 General Elections that GMB clearly lost, the man refused to concede, prompting his supporters to take to the streets killing Hundreds including Youth Corpers at their prime. GMB did not only got away with murder and disturbance of public peace, he contested the next election and many of those jostling to be President today campaigned for him aggressively.
Are we ready to face the wrath of GMB?

Many analyst are of the opinion that former President GEJ conceded quickly to avoid bloodbath. GMB had earlier threatened that if he lost that election "the Dog and the Baboon will be soaked in blood" many of those seeking to see him move back to Daura, waved it off and explained it with platitudes.
Are we ready if he choose to follow that path again?

If as a former Head of State and aspirant, PMB could unleash so much mayhem when he lost the election, you can imagine what he can do as a sitting President? Are we ready?

Every available report points to complicity on the part of the FG that has lead to the escalation of killings by these Gadafi trained Herdsmen. And the killings continue unabated and often unreported. If herdsmen can easily kill and get away when their own is in power, imagine how many they can slaughter given public endorsement by the man, if he is desperate to hold on to power. Are we Ready?

Why do I call this a revolution? I don't see PMB stepping aside like IBB did when the pressure became unbearable. The majority of those seeking to kick him out of Aso Rock are the Lazy Youths who want everything for free, they expect Elections to be Free and fair, and violence free - I don't think that is GMB's style. Are we Ready if the process will be violent?

What is a Revolution?

A Revolution is usually a violent attempt by many people to end the rule of one Government and start a new one. Today's youths are not only seeking to end the Government of the day but also to close a chapter. A chapter of recycling the old in power, a chapter of leeches that are now a clog in the wheel of progress, a Chapter of men with analogue brains and way of thinking in the Information Age. That too is another story
But Are we Ready?

I will love to hear from

Next My Thoughts on the way forward!
